Halloween Goals

When it comes to Halloween, this time of year gives me the warm and fuzzies. I think its because when I was a kid, my dad was the only person on our street who went all out for Halloween. He had a few Halloween blow molds, and lights he would string up, and I always loved it and thought it was so cool how our house was the Halloween house.

Now that I have my own home, I want to do the same thing! Although Halloween is bigger now than ever before, I want to be the house on the block with the best decorations, and the best candy.  I'm not there yet decoration-wise (some people are so incredibly creative and have much more money to spend on 12-foot skeletons than I do) but I'm working on it! In the meantime, while I'm slowly adding more decorations to my arsenal, I know one thing I CAN do, is make sure I have the best candy on the block!

In Kentucky, the most popular Halloween candy is Reese's Cups followed by Hot Tamales, and then Swedish Fish in 3rd.

To be totally honest, I thought we would see much more chocolate on this list. In Indiana, a chocolate Halloween candy didn't even make the top 3, which I find absolutely wild! LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
