A devastating fire ripped through the Sugar Mill Creek apartment complex on North Green River Road Wednesday night leaving several residents scrambling to not only to find a new place to live, but to replace belongings lost. The latter of which you can help with.

The Facebook page, "Help Sugar Mill Creek Families Affected by the Fire" has been created by local real estate agent, and former employee of our sister-station, 99.5 WKDQ, Casey McCoy to help those families displaced by the fire acquire the necessities, such as clothing, they need to get by while they go through the process of getting back on their feet.

A post on the page dated April 10th at 10:41am states they are still attempting to locate all the families affected, but they do know the following items are needed for the families they have found:

  • Boys clothing - 10/12 pants, youth lg tops, size 10 shoes
  • Girls clothing - 10slim pants, 7/8 or youth s top, size 3 shoes
  • Men's clothing - 32/32 pants, lg tops, size 11 shoes.

Donations are being accepted at the Keller-Williams Real Estate office at 701 N Weinbach Avenue, Suite 610, in same complex as the Sports Den during regular business hours. They were make sure the donations get to the people who need them.

If you or someone you know has been displaced by the fire at Sugar Mill Creek and need assistance to replace items such as clothing, contact Casey through the Facebook page.
