Mayor Winnecke's "Energize Evansville" initiative returns this Saturday for a free public workout at the Evansville State Hospital Park beginning at 9 a.m.

The initiative was one of the first items on the agenda of Mayor Winnecke shortly after taking office with the goal to provide residents a monthly opportunity to be more active, and hopefully begin a more regular exercise regimen (the desire to shed the label of "most obese city in the country" likely contributed as well).

Saturday morning's event will begin with an hour long walk around the park led by Deaconess Healthier U program followed by a Jazzercise program.

The event is open to all ages and fitness levels, and with the forecast calling for temperatures in the mid-60's to start the day, it should be a great day to get outside and get active.
