Evansville Roads Out-of-Towners Can’t Pronounce
Let's be honest, here in Evansville we have some wacky road names. For people who have grown up here, it's like second nature to pronounce them properly. But for out-of-towners, it can be a real pain in the butt navigating the Tri-State if you can't pronounce some of Evansville's most traveled roads! As someone who moved here when I was 23 years old, I feel the pain of the "tourists" who scratch their heads at some of the spellings of these street names:
TECUMSEH LANE:
This is really just an ugly assembly of random letters.
BOEKE ROAD:
If we're going to pronounce it as "Bakey," why didn't we just spell it "Bakey?"
TEKOPPEL AVENUE:
This literally looks like we're just starting a game of Scrabble and these are our opening letters!
BOEHNE CAMP ROAD:
Little known fact, Boehne Camp Road is based off of a summer camp for kids who have a hard time pronouncing things properly.
HEIDELBACH AVENUE:
Seriously, whose idea was THIS?!
