After a relatively quiet start to Spring, the Tri-State will face a significant threat of severe weather throughout the day Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, the main event will happen after 2pm with the biggest threat being damaging winds. Locally heavy rain is also likely which may lead to flash flooding in certains areas. The NWS also warns of the possibility of hail, along with an isolated tornado.

Be sure to know the emergency preparedness plan at your place of work, or at home in the event you need to seek shelter quickly. In the event a tornado warning is issued for any part of the 106-1 KISS-FM listening area, we will simulcast WEHT-WTVW coverage until the threat is over.

Make sure you have RadioPup on your smartphone, or other mobile device in the event you lose power wherever you may be.
