Ah, Bigfoot. Arguably, our nation's favorite legend. There are reports of sightings all the time. He's like the Star Trek franchise; he's never going away.

So, how many Bigfoot sightings do you think there have been in Daviess County over the years?

KentuckyBigfoot.com reports 12...and one of them I remember pretty vividly, and not because I was the one who bore witness. No. I just remember it happening.

It was 1978. I was 12 years old. The Messenger-Inquirer reported that something or someone, I guess, resembling Bigfoot was seen out on Fairview Drive. This is covered on the website, but what I remember about the description was it or HE was about 8 feet tall and maybe covered head to toe in mud.

But there have far more recent reports of sightings in Daviess County like, for example, in 2014 out on Horrell Road in West Louisville.

The witness in question, whose name is Drew, actually didn't SEE something. He HEARD something. It was a very loud howl. And the second time it happened there were five adults.

The folks at this sight really do their homework by following up on these reports, which I think is fascinating.

I found it interesting that most of the Daviess County sightings really are recent, with multiple reports from 2012. They also have accounts from 1968, 1982, 1983, 1991, 2006, and 2007. I had no idea.

He must like it here.

IS there a Bigfoot? IS there some missing link out there that REALLY gets around? Is there a species of mammal yet to be discovered that's super good at social distancing?

Is there a chance ANY of these questions will ever be answered to anyone's satisfaction?
