Abandoned Indiana Asylum For Sale
The words "abandoned" and "asylum" scare me too much to even consider this as an investment property.
It seems several people love being scared, the adrenaline that rushes and also creepy things. I am all for history and sci-fi to an extent. Mainly I only like to watch stuff on the ID channel or Discovery. Other than that you won't find me at a haunted house or doing ghost tours. I am too afraid a spirit will attach itself to me and I am not about that whatsoever.
Turns out a lot of people like to go to asylums and check out if they are haunted. We even used to have on in Evansville, well the old tuberculosis hospital off Boehne Camp is what I am referring too. I remember when I was in high school friends would talk about their older siblings going and checking out the old tunnels and TB hospital to see if it's really haunted. I NEVER wanted any part of that. Since then, it's been converted into apartments. I haven't heard if any tenants really see or hear anything but I wouldn't chance it.
Nonetheless, if you like that stuff, there is an abandoned asylum for sale in Bloomingdale, IN just north of Terre Haute. The home used to operate as the Parke County Poor Asylum but has since been closed according to Asylum Projects. The home sits on 6.2 acres and is being sold AS IS either as a residential or commercial property for a mere $200,000. The number of rooms isn't listed but you can expect this to be a huge project as it is an old building. If you want to purchase the building or schedule a tour, contact Eric Wolfe, Prime Real Estate Group. See the pics inside.
