The Evansville Courier-Press reports that an ozone alert remains in effect for the Evansville area today.

What does this mean for you? Nothing if you don't have asthma or some other respiratory issues. If you do, or know someone who does, then you (or they) may find that the frequency of asthma attacks increase along with lung and throat irritation.

The Vanderburgh County Department of Health website offers suggestions on what you can do to help keep the ozone levels down.

Those suggestions include:

  • Don't gas up your vehicle until after 6pm
  • Wait to mow your lawn until the late evening hours or until the alert has been lifted (Editor's note: Like I need an excuse NOT to mow my yard)
  • Group necessary errands into one trip
  • Do not open burn

Again, this is just a portion of suggestions they offer. You'll find the complete list on their website.
