The Evansville Courier and Press reports that an Ozone alert is in full effect today in the tri-state. METS starting offering free rides due to the ozone alert, which the ridership rose up 30 percent. The ozone alert can cause many respiatory problems, heat stroke, and shortness of breath.

The ozone alert is in the following areas: Vanderburgh, Warrick, Dubios, Gibson, Knox, and Spencer Counties.

Take full advantage of METS giving free rides around the tristate, they have air and will transport you and prevent you from being in the heavy extertion outside.

People who have asthma and heart problems are advised to stay inside away from the intense heat. Along with everyone else, be aware of the heat and stay hydrated!
