For the first time in its history, Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke's "Fitness in the Park" series of public workouts will feature two separate events for the public to participate in.

This month's edition will take place on Saturday, May 17th beginning with the Healthier U Walk from 9:00-10:00am at Wesselman Park on Boeke Road. That will be followed up with a "Boot Camp" exercise class for participants of all ages and fitness levels led by trainers from the YMCA from 10:00-11:00am.

Part two of the day's workout will feature the participant's opportunity to be a part of the "Pushups for Charity" event which benefits the Boot Campaign, a national non-profit which provides support for our nation's veterans.

Evansville's Pushups for Charity event will take place at both Wesselman Park and on the Evansville Riverfront during the annual River Run festivities also taking place that day.

Participation in the Healthier U Walk and Boot Camp exercise class at Wesselman Park is free. To register for the Pushups for Charity event, or to simply make a donation, visit their official website.
