How many times have you bought a new clothing item that you are super excited to wear?  Probably a lot, right?  You can’t wait to show it off to your friends, co-workers, significant other, etc.  But there are times where you never get the chance to wear said clothing item because it shrank after you washed it.  It is one of the worst feelings ever.  However, that feeling could be a thing of the past thanks to this simple life hack I just came across.

All you need to do to unshrink your clothes is re-wash your shrunken clothes with a hair conditioner.  Who would have thought that something as simple as a hair conditioner could be the answer to your clothes shrinking problem?  I had no clue but apparently, it works.  Plus, it is a pretty simple process.

First, you will need to fill up the sink or even a medium-sized bucket with water (duh).  Then add in your conditioner.  Mix it up a bit until the water is cloudy white and then you can throw in your shrunken shirt or whatever you need to de-shrink.  You will need to make sure the clothing item is thoroughly coved with the water/conditioner mix.  Once you have done all that you can leave your item to soak for 30 minutes.

When you go to pull your clothes out of the sink or bucket make sure you do not wring them dry.  That kind of messes things up.  You will want to gently squeeze the water out of the clothing item as you pull it from the bucket.  From there you are supposed to lay the clothing item on a towel and roll it up to get any extra water out.  Once you have done that put the clothing item on another towel, stretch it out to its original shape, and leave it to dry.  I did see that you can also lay something heavy on top to make sure your stuff doesn’t shrink back in after you have stretched the way you want it.

Sounds like a simple and convenient enough way to unshrink your clothes, right?  So, next time you shrink your new t-shirt before you have the chance to wear it, give this method a try.
