When professional wrestling fans around the world sit down in front of their TV on Monday, June 19th to watch WWE's flagship show, RAW, they'll be looking inside Evansville's Ford Center!

It's not uncommon for WWE to bring a show to Ford Center. In a typical year, we usually see them once or twice. Often times, those shows are what they call in the business, "house shows," meaning they are for the eyes of the audience in attendance only. They're not broadcast on television at any point in time.

It's also not uncommon for WWE to bring a televised show to Ford Center, as Smackdown has been broadcast from Ford Center on a few occasions over the years.

However, it IS rare for them to bring RAW to town. How rare? According to the foremost authority on professional wrestling in our building, The Rob, the last time RAW was in Evansville was 1997. May 26th, 1997 to be exact (20 years ago if you're math skills aren't too quick).

That night's main event featured Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels teaming up to win the Tag Team Championship over the British Bulldog and Owen Hart (highlights of that match are available on the WWE website).

Much has changed in the WWE landscape since then, but it remains the premiere professional wrestling company in the world, bringing action-packed shows to fans night after night. As of this writing the card for the June 19th show at Ford Center has yet to be finalized, but honestly, does it really matter who will be there? This is a HUGE deal. One of the most watched shows on television week in and week out will be right in our backyard (or downtown technically).

Tickets for RAW go on sale this Saturday, April 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at the Ford Center box office, and online through Ticketmaster. BUT, you could win them before they go on sale!

Check out The Rob's Radio Show with Kat Mykals weekday mornings, Ryan O'Bryan between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., and Gavin between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. all this week for your chance to beat the box office and win a pair of tickets for free!
