What’s Happened to All the McCormick Thick & Zesty Spaghetti Sauce Mix?
Excuse me! But what's happened to all the McCormick Thick & Zesty Spaghetti Sauce Mix? I have been to two grocery stores in the last two days and neither one had any. As a matter of fact, a stock person at one of the two stores told me, "We don't have that anymore." He nearly needed a clean up on Aisle Three because I almost passed the hell out. You "don't have that anymore?" Well, that's not going to work for me. It's not going to work for my household at all.
Now, here's the thing. I don't use this mix as a stand alone product. No way! However, Kevin routinely adds this to other brands of pasta sauce to thicken them up and give them some additional "zest." I had never even heard of McCormick until Kevin made meat sauce one night. He added a packet of McCormick's to it, plus his own special blend of Italian herbs and spices. I gotta say- it was REALLY good. And now, I am as hooked on it as he is.
The only problem? You can't find any at the moment and we're in a Penne panic! A manicotti mania!! A ravioli rage. A Fettuccini funk. We're bracing for a Rigatoni riot. Okay, I'll stop.
But seriously, we planned to make spaghetti this week, but have hit a roadblock because no one seems to have McCormick. Well, no one except for random people who Amazon who are trying to sell packets for $9.99 a piece or a pack of three for $23.99. No, I'm not kidding. CLICK HERE FOR PROOF!
Well, last night, I decided to put my detective skills to work. I checked out the message boards on McCormick's official website to see what in the heck is going on. It appears we're not the only ones desperately losing our McCormick minds. LOOK!
McCormick Mania
Hark! There is a response from the company. This is posted on the message boards of McCormick's homepage:
We appreciate that you are shopping for our products and are sorry you are having trouble finding some of your favorites. Please bear in mind that we are experiencing heavy demand on our packaging supply with more people cooking at home and you may see temporary out of stocks on some of our products. We are working hard to get these products back on shelves ASAP!
Okay, McCormick Thick & Zesty! That sounds great. But what am I supposed to do in the meantime? I have a pound of ground beef in the fridge, a package of angel hair pasta in the cabinet and some fresh grated Parmesan waiting in the wings. There's "heavy demand" in my kitchen and I need the McCormick truck backing it on up to my local grocery or my kitchen window.
