Watch for Increased Deer Activity Near Twin Bridges Due to Expected Flooding
With rainfall totals expected to be somewhere between an inch to an inch and a half over the next few days in Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky, Henderson authorities are warning residents travelling across the Twin Bridges to keep an eye out for an increased number of deer in the area as the animals search for drier ground.
The National Weather Service in Paducah, Kentucky issued a Flood Warning for the area effective today (January 19th) through late next week as rivers in the area are expected to rise above flood levels due to the amount of rain expected to fall.
The rising waters will force deer who live in the wooded area along the Ohio River on either side of the Twin Bridges to seek higher ground as flood waters begin to rise, many of which will have no choice but to cross the busy stretch of Highway 41 used by thousands of vehicles each day traveling to and from Indiana to Kentucky, and vice versa.
