And I am here for it.  Well, since I live in Kentucky, I guess I should say I am THERE for it.  Over the weekend, I was watching NBC's coverage of the World Figure Skating Championships.  Sidebar- Go, Nathan Chen!!  During the broadcast, they aired a commercial promoting the 2022 U.S. Nationals, which are going to be in Nashville in January.  And, get this!  Tickets go on sale next week.

Okay, full confession here.  I have been watching figure skating my whole life and I was sitting in front of the television when Scott Hamilton won his gold medal in the Sarajevo Olympics.  But, until I saw this commercial, I had no idea he was originally from Nashville.

The Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships are scheduled to take place from January 3rd through the 9th at Bridgestone and tickets go on sale on Monday, April 19th.  As you know, it's following the Championships that the United States will name its teams for the upcoming 2022 Winter Olympics.

I have been a fan of figure skating since I was a kid and I never miss a U.S. Nationals, World Championships or Olympic event on TV.  Seriously!  I remember sitting in my grandparents living room and watching Kitty and Peter Carruthers win a silver in Pairs during the 1984 Olympics.  I remember watching Brian Boitano win a gold medal in the '88 Calgary Olympics.  And who could forget big wins by Tara Lipinski, Sarah Hughes, Evan Lysacek and Meryl Davis & Charlie White?  And then, of course, I am now enjoying the absolute dynasty being built by the incomparable Nathan Chen, who will be vying for his 6th national title in a row in Nashville  And I plan to be there to watch him!
