U.S. Post Office Dates for Shipping Gifts in Time for Christmas Morning
If you want to make sure that hot new toy you bought your niece or nephew who live across the country gets there in time for them to open it Christmas morning, you need to make sure you get it in the mail one of three "recommended ship-by dates."
According to the U.S. Postal Service website, the date you ship is dependent on the service you use. Check out the list below to see how much (or how little) time you have.
- Standard Ground Shipping - Thursday, December 14th
- First Class Mail - Tuesday, December 19th
- Priority Mail - Wednesday, December 20th
- Priority Mail Express - Thursday, December 21st
If you have family or friends overseas, most of the dates have already come and gone with the exception of Global Express Guaranteed which is Tuesday, December 19th.
For loved ones in the military, you have until this Saturday, December 16th using Priority Mail Express Military Service.
