Guns 'N' Hoses is one of my favorite events of the year. It's an entertaining mix of boxing action and benefits a great cause all in one night!

The first two Guns 'N' Hoses' took place at the Evansville Coliseum. Fortunately, the event took off so well that it was moved to Robert Stadium three years ago. This year it "returns to its roots" so-to-speak inside the Ford Center in Downtown Evansville on Saturday, April 21st.

This will be my 3rd trip to Guns 'N' Hoses with each year better than the last. The production quality is impressive with everything from the fighters entrance songs to the big screens showing the each fighters entrance along with the fights themselves.

What makes the bouts themselves so great is how short they are. Each fight pits a local police officer against a local firefighter and is scheduled for 3 - 1 minute rounds. This means there's no time for dancing around and strategy. When the bell rings, it's go time, hit or be hit.

There's a lot riding on this years event as the teams are tied with 2 wins each so both teams will be looking to get the edge when it comes to the overall record and of course bragging rights. If you've never been to Guns 'N' Hoses, correct that mistake this year by getting your tickets now! This is the biggest fundraising event of the year for our friends at 911 Gives Hope so even if you're not a boxing fan (and you don't need to be to have a good time), know the money you put down goes toward a great cause.

To show how much effort they put into the production of the event, below is a video I shot of last year's opening ceremony followed by a photo gallery featuring highlights from last years bouts.
