This Rare Missouri Park Stands Out as Being the Best State Park
Did you know there is a Missouri State Park that has large pink granite boulders that look like elephants?
The Elephant Rocks State Park in Belleview, Missouri was just named the best state park by Tripsavvy. With its unique rock sculptures that look like elephants and trails you can walk/run on, it seems there is no doubt why this park was chosen as the best of all other state parks.
Elephant Rocks State Park is a fun park to experience because of its large pink granite boulders that resemble a train of elephants. Wander down the Braille Trail, which is appropriate for children and people with physical and visual disabilities.
According to the Elephant Rocks State Park website, the rocks were formed from 1.5 billion-year-old granite and stand end to end.
The rocks have created formations that intrigue geologists, are popular with history buffs interested in the past quarrying, and fascinate children who love to climb on and between the boulders.
I've heard of this park, but you know me I am not a hiker or walking trail person. It would be fun to see if these rocks really look like elephants up close. I'm sure they do or else they wouldn't have named it Elephant Rocks State Park, my luck I would fall climbing the rocks or walking the trail.
