The XFL is officially coming back to St. Louis next year, and while this announcement is exciting, could it be a precursor to an even bigger opportunity for St. Louis to once again be the home for an NFL team?

According to cbssports.com, St. Louis is one of the 8 cities that will be getting an XLF team when the league starts back up again in 2023. The other cities that will be joining St. Louis in the new XLF are Arlington, Houston, and San Antonio all in Texas, plus Orlando, Las Vegas, Seattle, and Washington D.C. the team names have not been announced but there are talks that the teams like St. Louis that is returning from the 2020 league could keep their names, St. Louis was the Battlehawks. CBS sports goes on to say...

"...the league will be designing new logos and innovative uniforms for each team over the coming months. The XFL will begin its second relaunch on Feb. 18, 2023 -- six days after Super Bowl LVII."

This is all really exciting for St. Louis, I thought the XFL was doing a good job back in 2020 and had a chance to succeed, but then COVID-19 came and ruined that chance. I believe this could be St. Louis's best chance of getting back into the NFL game as well, here me out...

The NFL has been looking into expansion to 40 teams for a while now, check out this great article on the possible expansion from PFT (click here!), and St. Louis has always been a city that is seen as a shoo-in for expansion. IF, and I know it is a BIG IF, but if the XFL can become successful and the St. Louis market can come out and really show massive financial support and love for their new team, it isn't crazy to think that the NFL would just absorb the XFL teams the way they did with the AFL before the Super Bowl era, teams like the ones in St. Louis, Orlando, and San Antonio could all stay put, while the other teams could be sent to cities like London, Toronto, San Diego, Austin, and Salt Lake City.

Obviously, I am projecting big time here, but I do think if seeing St. Louis get back into the NFL is important to you then supporting the heck out of the XFL team will go a long way in showing the NFL you want them back.

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
