Kanye West made news again this weekend, this time by claiming the second verse of his song "New Slaves" is the greatest verse in the history of rap music.  While I like the song and the Yeezus album, I think Kanye is giving himself too much credit once again.  It's a great verse in a great song...  But it's not even close to the best verse in the history of rap...  But that got me to thinking - what is?  Listen to this audio to find out my complete thoughts.

In my opinion, the greatest verse in the history of rap is the third verse of Eminem's "Lose Yourself."  I've said before that I think it's the best song in the genre, and it tells a story and describes a struggle that is very "hip hop."  It's honest, raw, and brilliant.

In the same sense, I'd also have to give a silver medal to the Notorious B.I.G.'s "Juicy" verse 1.  It's an extremely influential song, and that verse has been sampled countless times.  It's descriptive, painting a picture for the listener, and has that raw, honest brilliance I mentioned earlier.

I'm sure people going are going to disagree with me, and that's cool, so feel free to tell me what rap VERSES you think qualify as the best of all-time!
