The 25 Smallest Towns In Indiana With Shockingly Low Populations
Indiana is a state full of small towns. Chances are, you are from one of those small towns. However, there are no towns in Indiana smaller in population than these.
I'm from a small town in Indiana called "Boonville". The small-town life is definitely for me. While Boonville isn't the smallest town in the area, it still has that Small Town USA charm to it. That being said, there are a lot of small towns in Indiana that are much smaller in size and population.
Indiana is home to over 1,000 cities, towns, and villages. Several of these places, you've probably never even heard of. It's likely though, that you have driven through some of these small towns in Indiana. It is also possible that you drove by them without even realizing there was a town there at all. And if you come from a small town in Indiana like me, I'd be willing to bet that it isn't nearly as small as some of these. I'm talking about towns with less than 100 residents.
The website Indiana Demographics put together a list of Indiana cities by population. They used population data are from the 2020 Census Redistricting dataset. If 2020 Census data was not available for a geography, then they used population data are from the Census’ 2019 American Community Survey. This data revealed that there are several small towns (if you can even call them that) all throughout the state of Indiana that has a population that was likely even less than your high school graduation class size. You might be shocked to see the numbers!
