When WEHT Chief Meteorologist Wayne Hart uses words like 'Significant' in regards to snow, we should all start preparing for a lot of snow. While it may be too soon to go on record with an exact snow total, every forecasting source indicates that this is a 'Level 10 bread and milk alert.'

The Tri-State is in store for not 1, but 2, yes 2 snow events next week. Let's see what the weather professionals predict will happen.

During Thursday's forecast, Wayne Hart had this to say; "This could be the most significant snow event the Tri-State has seen in 3 to 5 years."

Meteorologist Ron Rhodes - We tried to get a solid answer out of Ron, but he says since it is a few days away, it's hard to predict the exact amount.

The Weather Channel

Monday Day, February 15, 2021: Watching a potential winter storm. Snow showers early will become steadier snow in the afternoon. High 17F.  3 to 5 inches of snow expected.

Monday Evening, February 15, 2021: Snow in the evening will transition to snow showers overnight. Low 6F. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.

Let's do a little math. According to this forecast, we could see up to 8 inches of snow by Monday night. Neat.

But wait...there's more.

Wednesday Day, February 17, 2021: Snow flurries and snow showers. Snowfall around one inch.

Wednesday Night, February 17, 2021: Periods of snow. Low 19F.  3 to 5 inches of snow expected.

Math lesson 2: 8 + 5 = 13 inches

Thursday Day, February 18, 2021: 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.

Math lesson 3: 8 + 5 = 13 inches + 3 = 16

And the National Weather Service hasn't officially predicted an exact amount as of Friday at 9:30 A.M.

"Saturday through Thursday Bitterly cold wind chill temperatures from zero to 10 below zero are forecast across all or part of the area each morning from Sunday through Tuesday. We continue to monitor two winter weather systems for next week, the first Monday into Monday night and the second forecast next Wednesday into Thursday. Accumulating snows and travel impacts are possible with both weather systems."
