Ask any golfer you know to rattle off a list of dream courses they'd like to play before their time on this planet comes to an end, and I guarantee you that somewhere on that list, more than likely near the top, you'll find Pebble Beach.

Carved into the California coast line, the course is renown as much for its difficulty as it is its beauty. Players must contend with stiff ocean winds on nearly every hole, and the ocean itself on nine of the eighteen holes, including the famous par three seventh pictured above that offers no forgiveness to players too strong off the tee.

The closest I've ever come to playing the world famous course is through countless rounds of Tiger Woods PGA Tour on the various gaming consoles I've owned through the years. And not to toot my own horn, but I have shot well under par on a number of occasions. But enough about my sad video game existence, let's talk about how you could actually be at Pebble Beach, swinging a real golf club, and hitting a real golf ball.

The Ronald McDonald House of Evansville is hosting is 5th Annual Golf Outing at Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh (another course I would have on my "dream" courses list) on October 14th, part of which includes a raffle to win a trip for two to California to not only play historic Pebble Beach, but also a couple of surrounding courses including Spyglass Hill and The Links at Spanish Bay.

Only 250 tickets are available for purchase, and if all are sold, the winner will also receive a $2,500 stipend to use to purchase hotel accommodations and round trip airfare.

You don't need to play in the outing for the chance to win. Simply print out the online form, and mail it to the Ronald McDonald House (address included on entry form), or e-mail it to

All the money raised will benefit the Evansville Ronald McDonald House and their continued mission to provide a home away from home for children and families undergoing treatment at area hospitals.
