Youth Baseball Challenger League Hosts Golf Scramble Before Taking the Field This Fall in Evansville
There really doesn't seem to be much of an offseason for the Highland Baseball Challenger League - if they aren't busy playing games in the spring and fall, they are busy with other events that raise money and awareness for this amazing program. One of those big fundraisers is coming up before the end of August, just a few weeks before the Fall league starts up.
What is the Challenger League?
I don't want to assume that everyone reading this already knows what the Challenger League is all about. We talk about it a lot on the air, but that doesn't mean everyone hears it. So let me tell you, or remind you that the Challenger League is an adaptive baseball program that serves young athletes (ages 3-18) with physical and intellectual challenges, giving them the chance to experience the joy of baseball.
Tee It High and Let It Fly!
The Highland Challenger League's 5th annual golf scramble is coming up on Sunday, August 28th at 1 pm at Cambridge Golf Course in Evansville. There is room for some more players ($300 per foursome) as well as more sponsorship opportunities (hold sponsors are just $100). Lunch will be included along with prizes for the top two teams, closest to the pin, longest drive, longest putt, and the craziest dressed foursome. Get more info or register now on the Highland Challenger League Facebook page.
It's Just About Time to Play Ball
The Fall season for the Highland Challenger League is almost here, and now is the time to get your kiddo registered to play. There is absolutely no cost to any family to play. There is no pressure to play if a kiddo isn't ready. There are no requirements of any kind, except to have fun. Register now for the Fall league here.
They're Looking for More Than Just Players
There is no doubt that the Highland Baseball Challenger League is all about the special young athletes that take the field each week, but the league wouldn't be possible without the help of volunteers, aka, buddies. Buddies are on the field with the players, encouraging them, cheering them on, and helping them have the best time possible. The league is always looking for more buddies. This is a great opportunity for other youth sports teams and organizations to get involved. It is pretty special to see a group of young athletes give us a sunny afternoon to help another group of young athletes. Visit their Facebook page if you're interested in becoming a buddy.
