Panic! at the Disco got their name from an emo band you've probably never heard of called Name Taken.

Brendon Urie and co. took inspiration from the Orange, California, band's 2004 track "Panic," which features the lyrics: "Panic at the disco / Sat back and took it so slow / Are you nervous? Are you shaking?"

Name Taken formed in Orange in 1999 under the name All That's Left, before changing to Name Taken after, ironically, discovering that their original moniker was already being used by a fellow band.

The four-piece were primarily active between 1999 and 2005, releasing the album Hold On, to which "Panic" belongs, in 2004. They briefly reformed for some shows in 2007, and released a standalone single, "Blood and Bones," in 2018. Currently, they appear to be inactive.

Elsewhere in the world of Panic! at the Disco, Brendon Urie recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, joining Jimmy and the Roots for a rendition of Queen classic "Under Pressure."

Panic! at the Disco currently has no shows planned for 2020, which is just as well, given the current state of the world. Their last album, Pray For the Wicked, dropped in 2018, topping the Billboard 200 and achieving impressive first-week sales of 180,000 units.

"Panic" by Name Taken Lyrics [via Genius]

So now you hear what took you years to listen for
But still I can't make out the words
Its the message that makes you miserable
But still...

Burning alive from the inside
Burning down
Sleep now you've fallen out of face

Panic at the disco
Sat back and took it so slow
Are you nervous? Are you shaking?
Save compliments to praise complation
We don't have to feel we fit in
We can move back
We can leave them

Burning alive from the inside
Burning down
Sleep now you've fallen for me

Manufactured dreams and a fabricated resolution
How can we move ahead from this backward motion?

So now you will hear what took you years to listen for
But still can't feel it

Burning alive from the inside
Burning down
Sleep now you've fallen out of face

Burning alive from the inside
Burning down
Sleep now you've fallen for me

Manufactured dreams and a fabricated resolution
How can we move ahead from this backward motion?
Panic panic
Panic panic
