Oh Fruit! Feed Evansville Recruited Fruit Ninjas to Save Their Produce
When my friend Lisa Vaughan puts out a call for help on social media, I'm always quick to share it. Usually, I'm on the air or in the middle of a project to stop and actually go help her. But today, I was on a mission to become a Fruit Ninja!
Save The Fruit Project
So, the semi that was bringing in the produce for Feed Evansville was in a wreck on the highway and was towed to an Evansville garage. Lisa posted that she needed some volunteers to help load the fruit into the Feed Evansville truck. As you can see, the back of the semi was basically a jumbled fruit salad.
Operation Fruit Ninja - Sliced
I recruited two of our finest sales pros, Hannah and Ben, to join my mission to help reload the fruit. This is where the story gets very 'Liberty'. I had Hannah drive because I can get stuck in a box. Ben was on directions, even though we were going just four miles from the station. When we arrived, I didn't see any signs of fruit or volunteers. I went in to ask if the mission was complete. The lady working the desk let me know that they couldn't let any more volunteers in. Friends, this is the kind of thing that happens to me LOL!
Good News After All
Even though our mission fruit was cut short, the experience is a great opportunity to share some information about Feed Evansville.
