I. Love. Sweets. Seriously, I think my whole mouth is full of sweet teeth, not just one. It doesn't matter how big of a meal I've had, or how full I feel, I'll find room to cram some type of sweet desert in there. So when I found out there's a new candy store coming to downtown Evansville, I immediately added it to the on going list of places to try I have on my phone.

After a few "soft opening" days, Sweet Schmitt's Candy will officially open its doors to the public tomorrow (Thursday, August 1st, 2019), taking the space formerly occupied by Gala Cakes on the corner of North Main and West Virginia Streets in downtown Evansville.

Sweet Schmitt's won't feature the type of candy you'll find at the Mall or a convenience store, instead it will feature homemade confections like Peanut Butter Caramel and Peanut Caramel Clusters, as well as a wide variety of marshmallows including the first one I plan on trying, the S'mores Marshmallow. All of which, according to owner Michael Schmitt in an interview with 14 News, are made with locally resourced ingredients.

Check out all the sweet treats Sweet Schmitt's plans to offer on their website (and have a paper towel handy to wipe up the drool).
