National Weather Service Hosting Spring Severe Weather Spotter Trainings
If you have ever wanted to train to be a weather spotter, you're about to get plenty of opportunities thanks to the National Weather Service. The NWS office in Paducah has published its list of dates for Spring Spotter Training Webinars. Here's the current schedule:

Each Spotter class lasts approximately 2 1/2 hours and is absolutely FREE. Following completion of the course, you "will have the tools necessary to become an official Skywarn Spotter with the National Weather Service."
Of course, the National Weather Service depends on an army of spotters throughout the WBKR listening area. Spotter reports are key, in conjunction with radar reports, for issuing tornado warnings, severe storm warnings, flood warnings and more.
