Monica’s 10 Disney “Don’ts” List
I spent a wonderful week in the most magical place on Earth last week, Disney World. There were many things and clothes that struck me as odd and quite frankly made it seem like the person I was observing seemed miserable.
Here's a list of "Don'ts" if you plan on visiting Disney World soon
1. Don't wear heels to the park...Just don't do it. My feet were killing me when I was wearing arch support shoes, and slow people just get in the way. #MoveIt
2. Don't not work out before visiting. I literally walked at least 15 miles a day. Before I left for my vacation I was only running about 5 miles a day and I wish I would have walked a further distance to prepare myself. (If you can't read the pic I walked 31,489 steps and 15.24 miles while in Hollywood Studios)
3. Don't wear a skin tight dress....I seriously saw a lady wearing a leather form-fitting dress, needless to say she was sweating buckets. (Sorry but I didn't have the guts to take a picture of this woman)
4. Don't forget the poncho. They cost 99 cents at the Dollar Store, but $15 at Disney World. (Although I somehow got lucky and never experienced rain the whole week...that was super rare)
5. Don't forget to wash your hands/use hand sanitizer. Although Disney has built an awesome hospital near the park, it's not fun having to spend your vacation in the hospital because you picked something up.
6. Don't forget your favorite drink or snack. You're allowed to bring food and drinks in the park and you will save MAJOR money doing so. But don't forget to try new foods, you won't regret the deliciousness either.
7. Don't forget your Magic Band in the hotel room....because you will then be locked out of said hotel room.
8. Don't push the kids to the limit. Everyone gets cranky in the heat, take some time to let the kids cool off, maybe go back to the hotel room to let them swim in the pool just to give them a break.
9. Don't think that Disney World is just for kids. It was just as magical this past visit as it was when I was a child. Except this time I understand how expensive magic can be.
10. Don't expect to never want to go back. Walking out of the park on the last day is soul crushing.
