A few weeks ago, the Mesker Park Music Festival took place near the now-closed Mesker Park Amphitheater to help raise money for renovations and the re-opening of the theater. The show was headlined by several local acts as a way to not only raise money for the event, but as a way to showcase some of the amazing local talent that we have in the Tri-State.

The event was organized by local entrepreneur Michael Armanno and was a huge success. While there was some discussion, and some unsavory allegations of where the money might go, there will be an official press conference tomorrow outside of the Amphitheater with Mayor Winnecke in attendance to receive the donation. This goes to show that there are several really cool things happening in Evansville. Hopefully, this can get things moving towards eventually re-opening the Amphitheater as most people in the city have some memory of having a great time at the venue. Congrats to everyone who helped organize and put on this amazing event and for raising money!

The Mesker Park Music Festival event benefited the Mesker Memorial Amphitheater closed in 2012. The Festival took place at Mesker Park, next to the now closed Amphitheater. The musicians featured at ‪#‎MeskerFest‬ were primarily local and up and coming acts that pull from a wide range of influences, including rock, punk, indie, acoustic, pop, hip hop, and more. Most musicians featured at #MeskerFest identify with the nostalgia of the Amphitheater and were excited to help in its revival.
The Mesker Park Music Festival will discuss the details of the successful event and the future of the festival.
