Kat Tries The Best Pizza in Chicago
After numerous suggestions that I try Giordano's pizza while in Chicago, we stopped in on Sunday to give it a try.
Giordano's. That is the name that kept coming up. Not only did Rob and a few listeners recommend it, but so did some friends and even my daughter's dad. So, of course we had to try it.
If you've never been, they recommend that you pre-order your pizza while you wait for your table. There was a 20-25 minute wait to be seated and they said the pizza's take about an hour to get through the oven.
I started with a cup of hot tea since I was cold from having been out walking in the Windy City. The Rishi tea that I was served was a delicious of tangerine and ginger!
We ordered an appetizer, enjoying their Cheesy Garlic Bread. It was absolutely heavenly.
The pizza that we ordered was the Stuffed Deep Dish with half pepperoni and half meat lovers. The pizza was about 2 inches tall.
I have never in my life eaten a slice of pizza like this. I have always been an "eat it with my hands" kinda girl, but this slice required a fork and knife. There was so much cheese oozing out of this pizza. It literally looked like a slice of pie!
All said and done, it was a great experience and the pizza was definitely delicious. I did not realize, however that it is a chain restaurant. I do prefer to support small, local, mom & pop businesses, but it was an all around positive experience none the less. As far as being "The Best Pizza in Chicago," well that may have to wait until my next visit when I can try some other pizza!
