With Jennette McCurdy's hit Nickelodeon show 'Sam & Cat' now over, the 22-year-old actress is setting her sights on another project -- a new web series called 'What's Next for Sarah.'

Drawing inspiration from her own life, Jennette's new role is an actress who kicked off her career on a TV show meant for teens and under and is now trying to figure out her next career move.

"I wanted 'What’s Next for Sarah' to be a light-hearted call-out to some of the more absurd experiences I've faced growing up in the entertainment industry," she told the Hollywood Reporter.

So far she's published four episodes, ranging from three to six minutes each. The latest ep features a variety of caricatures of phony Hollywood industry workers, including a dishonest casting director and brown-nosing agents.

"My goal was to exaggerate some of the more classic Hollywood archetypes — the phony reporter, the insincere agent, the duplicitous casting director — and heighten them to a surreal extent that we can all laugh at," she said. "We all have those moments where we feel like the world is entirely crazy, and we’re the only sane person."

Not only does Jennette take center screen for her new project, but she also plays a few big roles behind the camera, including that of writer.

"I saw 'What’s Next for Sarah' as a creative opportunity for me to try my hand at more behind-the-scenes aspects of entertainment and learn more about the production process as a whole," she explained to the Hollywood Reporter.
