Downtown Evansville’s Longest Street Sale is Back This Saturday
If you're looking for a fun way to spend a Saturday morning this Mother's Day weekend, look no further than downtown Evansville. The Downtown Evansville Improvement District is bringing back its annual Sidewalk Sale this Saturday, May 9, from 9 AM to 2 PM.
What to Expect at the Downtown Evansville Sidewalk Sale
Now in its eighth year, this event has grown in popularity and size, and has earned its reputation as Evansville's longest street sale, and it's easy to see why. More than 150 local makers, vendors, downtown businesses, and residents will line Main Street from Riverside Drive all the way to Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, each with something unique to offer. I’d be willing to bet you can find the perfect, one-of-a-kind Mother's Day gift!
A Perfect Mother's Day Weekend Activity
Speaking of moms – this year's event has some extra-special touches for the occasion. Head over to 318 Main Street in front of Innovation Pointe, where you'll find a gorgeous floral photo backdrop perfect for snapping a memorable moment with the mother figures in your life. Plus, Astound is giving away 500 free carnations to the moms and mother figures in attendance, on a first-come, first-served basis – so arrive early!
Live Music and Downtown Atmosphere
The good vibes keep rolling with live local musicians performing along Main Street throughout the event, creating the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and enjoy the day.
Free parking is available in the city parking garage at 3rd & Locust, and public restrooms will be accessible at the corner of Fourth and Main. Downtown stores and restaurants will be open with special deals, and if you're 21 or older, you can grab an alcoholic beverage in an official Downtown Evansville DORA cup and stroll the sale in style.

As DEID Executive Director Adam Trinkel put it, this is "the perfect time to see the hundreds of flowers our team planted this past week" as part of the district's beautification efforts.
