A Camel Video That Stopped My Scroll

You know how Facebook serves you videos it thinks you will like? Most of the time, I just keep scrolling. But this week, it served me pure gold.

Kevin and Jamie Clanton, who have a family farm filled with exotic animals including monkeys, a parrot, and camels, often post videos of their farm adventures on social media.

Baby Camel Steals the Show

The video that made me laugh out loud featured Kevin attempting to show viewers how to lead a young camel named Cecil around. The camel, however, had other plans.

With a very sweet and gentle demeanor, Kevin tries to walk the baby camel using a halter. Instead of cooperating, the camel calmly lays down and plays dead.

When Training Turns Into Comedy

Rather than getting frustrated, Kevin and Jamie burst into laughter at the camel’s refusal. After a second protest from the camel, they decide to save the training for another day.

Inside the Clanton Family Farm

The Clanton family runs a full farm. Their website explains how they came to own Bear, their first spider monkey, several years ago. They are also very clear that monkeys do not make good pets.

They do not take their animals to events, do not breed monkeys, and do not allow visitors on their farm. Still, you can follow all of their adventures online, and they are truly a joy to watch.
