Back to School Bash — Street Eats & Treats

Saturday, August 1, 2026 | 4 p.m.
First 500 people get a free hot dog. Bring a backpack filled with school supplies (pencils, crayons, erasers, notebooks, folders, glue, paper) for a coupon toward free coffee, plus a chance to win free coffee for the rest of the year. Donors get free coffee for the entire month of August. Backpacks must be dropped off at a Street Eats & Treats location before August 1 to qualify for coffee rewards.

Back to School Bash — Redemption Place

Saturday, August 1, 2026 | 4-5:30 p.m.
Free hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, games and activities, plus 250 backpacks filled with school supplies while supplies last.

Back to School Bash — Tenth Street Missionary Baptist Church

Saturday, August 1, 2026 | 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
All are welcome. Games, inflatables, face painting, balloon art, and door prizes, plus hamburgers and hot dogs and backpacks stuffed with school supplies. Pastor Frank Alexander, Senior Pastor.

3rd Annual Back 2 School Bash — Precision Studios & Kentucky Career Center

A community event with prizes and giveaways — free goody bags of school supplies for the first 5 school-age children through the door (limit 1 per family), a clothing super sale (buy one, get one free) with 3 exciting giveaways at 2 p.m., and a shopping drawing entry for a Shoe Carnival gift card or $25 store credit.

Health First Offers Back-to-School Checkups

Health First Community Health Center is once again making it easier for families to check those important items off the list by hosting its annual Back-to-School Health & Wellness Days.

Owensboro – Thursday, July 30

Appointments are available from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and are required. Families can reserve a spot by calling 877-667-7017.

These events are about more than getting a quick checkup. Children can receive school and sports physicals, well-child exams, immunizations, and other back-to-school health services while enjoying games, activities, and a fun atmosphere. Every child who attends will also receive free school supplies to help start the new school year.
