When I was a kid, my sisters and I participated in our version of The Hunger Games before The Hunger Games were even a thing. Back in the 80s, there was some kind of toy in virtually every box of all the cereal brands. A good toy would help set the brands apart from the rest of the pack. Sure, the cereals were delicious. But, we picked out cereals based on what kinds of toys were inside those boxes. Think a mashup of Kellogg's, General Mills, and the WWE.

After every single grocery trip, we would fight over who got to the cereal boxes first. As soon as our mom put the bags down on the kitchen table, the race was on. We would basically dive roll through the kitchen and push, shove, throw an elbow, and donkey kick each other to to get the boxes, open them up, jam our grubby hands down into the box of cereal and claim the toy. Thinking back on it, I can't believe we ate that cereal after everyone's hands were down in it. Grody to the freaking max.

WHICH KELLOGG'S CEREALS HAVE PRIZES IN THEM?

There are trading cards, spoons, and even plastic toys shaped like characters from the movie. You'll find them in specially-marked boxes of some of the all-time great breakfast cereals- Froot Loops, AppleJacks, Frosted Flakes, and CornPops.

Okay, I must admit. I have zero desire to have a plastic toy or playing card from Toy Story 5, but I still LOVE all of those cereals. I am 54-years-old and cereals are still my go-to guilty pleasure purchase at the grocery. As I write this story, I have boxes of Cocoa Puffs, Honey Maid S'mores, and Oreo Puffs in my cupboard.

So, what about you? As an adult, are you still spoon-deep in boxes of cereal?
