Although the Maddox family has no plans to move in the foreseeable future, one of my favorite things is to look at cool houses for sale online. I found a listing recently that had a surprise on the lower level.
Anderson, Indiana Colonial Revival Mansion For Sale
Anderson is in central Indiana just northeast of Indianapolis. This lovely Colonial Revival home was built in 1937. With design elements inspired by the Revolutionary War era, the front of the mansion is symmetrical with white columns and the interior showcases intricate woodworking and historic charm.
Beautiful Indiana Home on the Market With Unique Features
Over 19,000sq. ft. with 6 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms (full and half included), this house sits on 5 acres of land. As you can see, there is lots of privacy and it backs up to the White River.
Plenty of outdoor space for a family to play or a nature lover to explore.
This heated 4-car garage was later added on
It has gorgeous windows like this one where you can see the Florida room/Solarium.
Look at this back porch! This would be a wonderful patio for a party or a row of rocking chairs.
A beautiful winding staircase leads to the second floor from the foyer.
The landing at the top of the stairs. Check out the original medallion on the ceiling.
And here is the Florida room/Solarium from the inside. I have some feelings about the wallpaper, but this could be a lovely space once updated a bit.
Look past the moving boxes and check out the gorgeous dining room with hand-painted Chinese silk wall coverings. The marble fireplace to the left looks like a show-stopper too.
So much light and storage space in the kitchen.
The library in the East wing has cherry paneling and built-in bookcases. A dream for any avid reader.
What an interesting little room this is! I believe it's in the basement adjacent to the game room.
And last but not least, some shots of the awesome vintage Brunswick bowling alley!
Listed at $650,000 this blast from the past is packed with personality and ready for its next caretaker. That seems like a bit of a steal, but I would imagine the utilities are a pretty penny! Not to mention the cosmetic updates that most folks would probably make. Still an absolutely gorgeous property. More information is provided here on realtor.com.
