Haunted Historic Evansville Ghost Walks Return for 2026

There are a few things I look forward to every fall: cooler weather, changing leaves, oversized sweaters... and spooky season.

So every year when Haunted Historic Evansville announces its ghost walks are returning, I get a little excited.

If you've never experienced one before, these aren't the jump-scare haunted houses. They're guided walking tours through one of Evansville's oldest neighborhoods, where local history and ghost stories come together for a uniquely spooky evening.

Explore the Haunted History of Riverside

The annual ghost walks take place in Evansville's beautiful Riverside Historic District, where participants stroll by lamplight while hearing stories inspired by the area's history and the spirits that are said to still linger there.

Along the way, you'll encounter costumed performers portraying figures from Evansville's past while learning about the people and places that helped shape the city.

It's history with a supernatural twist, and it's one of my favorite local traditions once October rolls around.

Tours run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and tickets go on sale August 1 at HauntedEvansville.com.
