One food website claims that they have found the best local food chain in Indiana, and I have a feeling you might disagree.

Indiana has no shortage of great restaurants that have been open for years. These restaurants have become staples in that area where people must go whenever they are in town. They are restaurants that can even become bucket-list places to dine at. Whether it be comfort food, burgers, fried chicken, seafood, Italian, Mexican, steakhouses, or any other type of restaurant, there are certain places that stand out among the rest. Out of all of the possibilities, it can be somewhat difficult to decide where you want to go to eat. Sure, you can always visit the trusty national chain restaurants, or you might want to dine at a local establishment. Here in Indiana, we have several local chain restaurants that have become popular throughout the years. They have become Indiana staples. One website claims that they have found the best Indiana food chain, and I have some thoughts.

Love Food normally knows what it's doing when it comes to their rankings. I found a recent ranking for the "best local food chain restaurant in each state". While some of the results might not come as a surprise to anyone, the best local food chain in Indiana, however, is one that I don't think anyone would have expected.

Is This Really Indiana's Best Local Food Chain?

According to Love Food, is none other than Books & Brews, with locations in Mothership and Brownsburgh. Here's what Love Food says about Books & Brews:

This hip brewery and bookstore, aptly named Books & Brews, is all about getting together for craft beers, games nights, and regular live music and comedy – perhaps before, during or after browsing the array of books. There's also a menu of sandwiches, salads, flatbreads, nachos, and tortillas.

So essentially, this is a bookstore that serves beer and some food items. While it might be nice and the food might be good, I don't think you can really consider a bookstore a local chain restaurant. Personally, I feel like there were way better options.

How About Azzip Pizza?

The first local chain restaurant that came to mind that I thought should have been named the best in Indiana is Azzip Pizza. I always tell people, when they ask what Azzip Pizza is, that it is kind of like the Subway of pizza. You pick what size of a personal pizza you want, your sauce, toppings, and anything else you might want on there. They bake it and get it right out to you in a couple of minutes. Azzip Pizza first opened in Evansville in 2013, and since then they have branched out to seven other locations in Indiana. They also have a couple of locations in Kentucky.

Azzip would have been my first choice for the best local chain restaurant in Indiana, but what about you? Take a look at what Love Food chose as the best local chain restaurant in the other states by clicking here.
