Despite Illinois' export prowess, the state itself seems to have some issues, as indicated by World Population Review. Illinois is one of the fastest-shrinking states in the U.S. and has experienced a 0.54% (more than half a percent) decrease in population in recent years. High taxes seem to be driving the trend, along with a declining job market and high cost of living. Overall, 25% of Illinoisans say their state is the worst in the nation.
