Tri-State Donut Shop Celebrating 57th Anniversary with Sweet Deal
Donut Bank is preparing to celebrate 57 years in business with a sweet deal available only on Thursday, July 18th.
There are a lot of wonderful places to grab a donut and a coffee in the tri-state. When I was living in Washington, Indiana, my favorite stop was a local bakery called The Bakery House. I still try to stop by there when I'm in the area, as they have some of my favorite desserts, breakfast sandwiches, and, of course, donuts. Having recently moved to Gibson County, I've found an assortment of local staples in Princeton that I've also come to enjoy, such as Donut Bank. While the Princeton location has only been around since 2008, the business itself has deep community roots.
According to Donut Bank, the first locale opened in 1967 in Evansville. It was founded by Harold Kempf, and the business is now in its third generation. Since the late 1960s, Donut Bank has been serving up fresh cakes, bagels, donuts, cookies, and their award-winning coffee. I get excited every time I see their inconic white and green box on my kitchen table or in the break room at work. Donuts are just a "happy" food.
In 1987, the business held the grand opening of their new location on Washington Avenue in Evansville. Another shop would open in Newburgh in 1998, followed by another one on Lincoln Avenue in Evansville during the year 2008. The Princeton locale opened that same year, and the company later expanded to Henderson, Kentucky, in 2014. Most recently, Donut Bank opened its latest shop in 2023 on the West Lloyd Expressway.
Serving up fresh donuts, coffee, and other goodies for nearly 60 years is definitely a call to celebration, and I, for one, am excited about what the company is doing later this month. In honor of 57 years in business, Donut Bank plans to offer 57¢ assorted donuts all day long on Thursday, July 18th. Patrons will be able to order those sweet treats both online and in store. It's safe to say my breakfast and perhaps lunch plans are set for the 18th.
