Surprising Illinois City Cracks Healthiest in U.S. List

When you think of a healthy city, what comes to mind? A new national ranking says that one place in Illinois has figured out what it takes to help its residents be among the healthiest in America.

Niche has just released it's 2025 healthiest cities in America list and there's a somewhat surprising Illinois city in the top 20

They say that Naperville, Illinois is the 16th healthiest city in America and give it an A+ for health and fitness overall. The city of Naperville is more than happy to remind you that this really should not be a surprise as they've received many wellness awards including the Well Workplace Award from Well City USA.

TripAdvisor lists many parks in Naperville as must-visit places and that includes some epic walking and running trails. It is the lone representative for the Midwest in this new healthiest cities list as revealed by Niche.

Naperville is not a one-trick pony as Niche also ranks the schools in that region as an A+ and overall one of the best places to live in America. A frequent narrative among national media is that many are leaving Illinois or that the quality of life is better elsewhere. Naperville is one of the cities in Illinois proving that's simply not true.
