Anyone who grew up in the late 70s and early 80s knows just how iconic the television shows, and their actors, were to us as kids, and one legendary actor will be making an appearance to visit with fans in western Kentucky.

The Incredible Hulk in Comics

The massive green monolithic mutant known as The Incredible Hulk made his first comic book appearance in 1962 thanks to the brilliant minds of the late Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

The Incredible Hulk on TV

More than a decade later, in 1978, the comic book character would come to life on the television screen. Embodying the character of the Incredible Hulk would be none other than Lou Ferrigno. At the time, Ferrigno was the largest professional bodybuilder. He measured 6 feet four inches tall and weighed in at 285 pounds. Ferrigno's chiseled physique earned him the title of Mr. America and the title of Mr. Universe two years in a row. According to IMDB,

An internationally famous and well respected bodybuilder / actor, Lou Ferrigno first appeared on TV screens in 1977 as the musclebound title character of The Incredible Hulk (1977), the alter ego of meek scientist David Banner. Ferrigno was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1951 and as a child suffered from an ear infection that resulted in permanent partial hearing loss. Undeterred by what some may have perceived as a disadvantage, Lou threw himself into athletics (predominantly weightlifting and body building) and at the age of 21 won his first Mr. Universe title. For good measure, he came back and won it again the following year!
