If you thought it was safe to stay in a cabin in the Smoky Mountains during the coronavirus outbreak, you may have to change your plans. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is set to close for at least two weeks.

We actually have a friends trip planned in three weeks at the Smoky Mountains. It's not looking good right now. According to a post on the Great Smoky Mountains Facebook page, the park will be closed from March 24th (at noon) until April 6th, 2020.

"All areas of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, excluding the Foothills Parkway and the Spur, will close today at noon through Monday, April 6, 2020 to help slow the spread of COVID-19. This includes trail and road closures. The park will continue to monitor the condition and will provide updates."
