Free Lunches Being Given Out At CK Newsome Center
During this time of social distancing, some people are finding it harder and harder to find something good to eat, especially those who can't buy in bulk or cook for themselves. That's why the volunteers of Feed Evansville are giving their time and resources to help make sure any that needs it can get a good meal!
Feed Evansville is a volunteer task force organized by Alex Burton, Candace Chapman, Lisa Vaughn and Tanisha Carothers that, over the next few weeks, will be handing out free lunches every Thursday, between 12p -2p at the CK Newsome Center, 100 E Walnut St. in Evansville, Indiana.
Feed Evansville will be part of a neighborhood food delivery today as well as hosting a food pantry. They will also be giving away meals this Saturday, March 28 at Potters Wheel serving breakfast, and at Thyme in the Kitchen/Urban Seeds for lunch. Feed Evansville needs your help as well and are accepting food donations at the CK Newsome Center from weekdays from 12p-2 p.m.
So far Feed Evansville plans to hand out around three thousand meals each week and will continue to do so until the coronavirus pandemic has passed or until the start of summer. The meals are free of charge and available for anyone that needs it.
