Evansville’s Four Freedoms Veterans Parade This Saturday on Franklin Street
For the first time since its inception, the annual Four Freedoms Veteran's Parade will "march" its way down Franklin Street this Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Bring the entire family and help honor our nation's military veterans for their service to our country.
The theme of this year's parade will salute our local "Rosie the Riveters," women who took on factory jobs after men were sent overseas to fight in World War II. The following six local "Rosies" will be on hand to serve as Grand Marshals:
- Anna Johnson
- Betty Jo Adams
- Imogene Sue
- Ann Votz
- Lucille Wahnsiedler
- Dorothy Wahnsiedler
The parade will begin at Pigeon Creek and makes its way down Franklin Street before ending at 12th Street.
Stop by early to enjoy other activities on site ahead of the honorary parade including, sidewalk chalk and face painting for the kids beginning at 10:00 a.m., and live music from the Patriotic Souls, the Signature Singers, and Gina Moore from the Brown Sisters beginning at noon until the start of the parade.
