You likely know the month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. But, did you know October 18th is Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day? In observance, and to assist those who need them, Evansville Plastic Surgical Associates is hosting a Bra Collection Drive at their offices next Wednesday.

Unfortunately, you likely know someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, as it seems to be prevalent in Tri-State. You may even know someone who required a single or double mastectomy in order to prevent the cancer from spreading. The decision to undergo that procedure (if they're even given the choice) is certainly a difficult one to come to for women. How will they look post surgery, and what will other's think may be just a few of the questions they ask themselves both pre and post procedure.

Wednesday's Bra Collection Drive is intended to assist those brave women with education, awareness and access regarding post-mastectomy breast reconstruction according to the event posting on the Evansville Plastic Surgical Associates Facebook page.

You can get involved in the collection drive by donating your gently used bras at the Evansville Plastic Surgical Associates office at 1020 Professional Boulevard, Suite B. between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
