Daviess County Public Library Giving Away College Survival Kits
Due our unexpected bout with the coronavirus pandemic, high school seniors had a rather abrupt end to their school year. While many of those students are disappointed with being unable to go to Senior Prom or walk down the graduation aisle, many are gearing up to take the next important step. In a couple of months, many will be heading off to college and the Daviess County Public Library has come up with a fun way to send them off in style.
The library has announced its giving away five "college survival" gift baskets to local graduating high school seniors. I haven't even seen what's inside the baskets, but I can tell you right now. A college survival kit would have some in quite handy when I went off to campus at the University of Louisville.
The baskets are valued at $100 a piece and contain a variety of items needed to "survive" freshman year of college.
Tiffani Henry, the PR Coordinator for the library says, "We want to reward them (local seniors) for their hard work and understanding during this unique and difficult time.
Getting registered to win is simple. Parents, this is where YOU come in. If you are the parent of a local high school senior, all you have to is head over to the Daviess County Public Library's Facebook page and tell them about your 2020 graduate. But do it as soon as possible. Winners will be announced on Monday, June 1st.
