A Christmas Tradition

There is always something so special about Christmas time.  Whether you're a big fan of the holiday or not, it is always cool to see homes and public spaces all lit up.   Every year one of my favorite things to do is fill up a thermos with hot chocolate or mulled cider (depending on how prepared I am) and hit the road one evening with Christmas music playing, to drive around and see the gorgeous lights.  Don't forget to swing by downtown Henderson to see their gorgeous lights too!

Downtown Henderson Tree Lighting Ceremony

This Friday, December 2nd, the city of Henderson will host their 37th annual tree lighting ceremony. Not only will the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree take place at 6 PM, but there will also be live music.

Here is what the city of Henderson had to say about the annual tree lighting:

There are more than 15,000 lights in the display and the popular cutouts will be back in place for the month of December.

The Dec. 2 festivities will include the lighting of the 67-foot Christmas tree by decree of Henderson Mayor Steve Austin and Christmas music starting around 5:30 p.m.

Christmas in the Park is presented by the City of Henderson in partnership with the Henderson Breakfast Lions Club. It features more than 30 displays, many of which are interactive. Many of them have been refurbished for the 2022 season by City staff and community partners including students from Henderson County High School of Fine Arts and Career and Technical Education Unit.
