Millions of children across the U.S., including right here in the Tri-State don't get the nutrition they need to grow. American Dairy Association of Indiana is looking for you to join them in changing that with the Great Milk Drive to benefit the Tri-State Food Bank.

Between myself and my two kids, we go through two to three gallons of milk a week. I can drink it with anything. Pizza, chicken wings, pork chops, a sandwich, whatever. Unfortunately, not all children have that luxury. According to MilkLife.com, "milk is one of the most requested, yet least donated items" due to the fact it's perishable.

The site goes on to state the average family in need of food donation services receives the equivalent of less than one gallon per person per YEAR, which brings us to the heart of the Great Milk Drive and how you can help.

Simply stop by any Houchen's IGA (formerly Buehler's IGA) in Evansville and make a donation. 100-percent of the money donated will go directly to the Tri-State Food Bank. Those in need of the Food Banks services will then receive vouchers they can use at participating stores to get the milk they need.

Donations can also be made online through the American Dairy Association of Indiana website, WinnersDrinkMilk.com.
